Parisian Ponytail

Pants/ Portabello Market, Shoes/ Etsy, Sweater/ Borrowed, Longer Sweater/ Burbank Vintage, Head Scarf/ Portabello Market

$up,
The past couple of weeks the weather in London has really taken a dive and it is only going to get worse... (insert worried emoji). It makes me look forward to going back home for winter break, and I was already really looking forward to it. It's actually really strange how much I am looking forward to winter break. I don't really remember feeling that way the last time I went away, but then again I guess I wasn't really that far to begin with.

I am so excited to see my family, I miss them dearly. I wish that I could come back for thanksgiving because it's my favorite holiday, but of course they don't celebrate that in England. A lot of English people don't even know what it is (or at least some of the ones that I have talked to). I don't blame them though, there are English holiday's that I have never herd of. One just passed actually. It was yesterday, it was a day to remember the day that Guy Fawkes almost blew up parliament. So there are fireworks and apparently the have a bonfire to burn a fake Guy Fawkes. It's pretty interesting, but I had to much work to really participate in it.

That was a really random tangent.. Back to what I was saying..

My family. I cannot wait to see my mom and my brother and my dad. I can't wait to get special mom hugs. That's something that is really lacking in my life right now, the hug. I think it's something that a lot of us don't really do very much anymore and it's something that is really taken for granted. We should never underestimate the power of a hug. It can easily make everyone feel so much better. Ahh I can't wait to feel the love of my family. I think that's the thing I am looking forward to the most. Not Christmas, not seeing my friends, not the weather but just that love.

Living Life in a Catsuit

Coat/ Glendale Goodwill, Shoes/ Urban Outfitters, Catsuit/ Sunthrift, Sunglasses/ Giant Vintage Sunglasses

$up,
For a long time I have really wanted to get a catsuit. I remember my best friend Sahara let me borrow a black catsuit that she had for halloween. I dressed up as a ghost, but the costume was inconvenient to wear at parties, so I would take it off and just be wearing this really cute catsuit. I have wanted one every since then I suppose. They are kind of hard to find when your a cheep-skate like me. I found this one at Sun Thrift, and I guess it was just pure luck. I find you cant really go into thrift stores with a clear image of something you want, because odds are you are not going to find it, and then you'll be kinda bummed out. The catsuit doesn't really fit properly yet, but I plan on fixing it as soon as my mom sends me my peddle for my sewing machine. Yeah you read that correctly, she sent me my machine without my peddle.. Silly mommy.

London Homies

Sweater/ Oakland Goodwill, Shirt/ Salvation Army, Leggings/ Target, Shoes/ Vagabond, Hat/ Camden Market, Glasses/ Giant Vintage Sunglasses.

$up,
This past weekend has made me feel so at ease because it seems like things are finally starting to fall into place. I have started my course at Uni, and I am excited about something for the first time in a long time. Today we went over the course load and our time tables, and I feel a little stressed but mostly just excited to learn and really show everyone what I am made of. I have this overwhelming feeling that I am going to wow my professors, and it feels so good. I finally feel like I am in the right place at the right time. I have never felt that way before.

Over the weekend I met up with this Wonderful photographer studying at London College of Fashion named, Tish Jarrett. She contacted me via email to colab for a shoot. I was super stoked because I have these awesome new glasses from Giant Vintage Sunglasses that I wanted to have captured for my blog. We went to this really cool courtyard of an apartment complex that was entirely filled with graffiti. I would have liked to get some more pictures there wearing different outfits, but the inconvenient thing about living in London is you can only bring what you can carry. I did however get to sneak in one more look that I will be posting tomorrow! Tish was a really nice girl and a really talented photographer. If you want to see more of her work you can look at her site here.

Music- I haven't really been on the look out for new music which bums me out a bit, but I will be scouting for some next week, so I can give you some new stuff to listen to! Face to Face- Daft Punk.

Garden BB

Shirt/ Sun Thrift Skirt/ Jet Rag Shoes/ Etsy

$up,
I've been thinking a lot the past couple of days about love and relationships. I think movies and tv shows make us think that we need to have really dramatic relationships in order for them to be exciting. When you think of the pattern of every "chick flick" or "romantic movie" two people fall in love and they are usually opposites and they have this great relationship when its first starting out and then there is a problem and then they break up and then its a toss up at the end, they either get back together and accept that they are different, or they stay broken up (The more optimistic and happy endings are more popular.). I think this makes everyone think that when the going gets tough, you can just quit. The reality is that relationships can be really hard sometimes, but just because it is hard doesn't mean that it is worth throwing away. Back in the 1950s divorce was rare and kind of frowned upon, and I think that a lot of those people had issues with their spouses but they worked it through because they took vows to each other. On the other hand though, some times things don't work out and people are just wrong for each other. My parents divorced when I was 6 and I really think it was the best thing for both of them because I just wanted them to be happy. Along the lines of divorce, I was also thinking about my friends who's parents are divorced and they kinds of romantic relationships that they get involved with. To be quite honest, I think my friends who's parents are married get into romantic relationships that are really just not good. They get with people that treat them horribly and they just take it. My friends that have parents that are divorced get into relationships that they feel comfortable saying when they are not okay with something. They are not afraid to speak their mind, and that is something that I really respect. No one can read your mind, so if your upset about something, or your needs aren't getting met, you need to speak up. I know this may kind of sound all over the place, but I am just writing they way I think. I think I lost track of what I was saying. Oh, it seems that there always needs to be some kind of drama in relationships, like oh He's looking at other women, or He's emotionally unavailable or something of that nature. Why do we compare our lives and our relationships to the ones we see on tv or in movies? It is okay to have a drama free relationship with someone. Drama does not make something more exciting, love does. Love is the most exciting thing there is.

Sonny

Shorts/ Sun Thrift, Shoes/ Rose Bowl Flea Market, Shirt/ American Apparel, Turban/Something4you

$up,
These pictures were from a couple days ago. I had bought this turban from Something4you a while ago and only wore it once or twice. I really love the turbans and head raps that they sell, they are super affordable and comfortable which in my opinion is the best combination a company can have. I knew I wanted to wear it a couple of days ago I also knew I wanted to wear these awesome new shoes that I got from the Rose Bowl Flea Market this past sunday. Its a mixture of 40s and 70s so I wasn't really sure what to wear with these accessories. I had these pants that have always been to big for me, (but I wear them anyway.) that I got at Sun Thrift. They are red velvet and covered in flowers, right up my alley. whenever I wear them they kind of are drowning on me, so I kind of stopped wearing them for a while. I made the decision to cut them into shorts- I feel like this can either go really well or horribly. Lucky this time I think that I made the right decision. Lastly I put on this wonderful crop top I got at American Apparel a couple of years ago.

Raging Waters

Shirt/ Sun Thrift, Skirt/ Sun Thrift, Shoes/ Etsy

$up,
Yesterday I went to a water park with my brother and my two step siblings. I used to really love water parks, even though they are pretty gross and you are most likely swimming in a mixture of little kids pee and water with a lot of chlorine, but this time it wasn't really that much fun and I don't really know why. My brother and I went one two slides and then we went in the wave pool and the lazy river. The water was really really cold, so I think thats why we only did a few things. The ground was also insanely hot, I definitely burned the bottom of my feet. There were other slides that we wanted to go on, but I was more hesitant because I remember the slides that didn't have inter-tubes really hurt your back or your front. Ryan and I got a lot of junk food, so that was pretty cool. We got weird looks from everyone, and I think its because of my hair and Ryan's rose.. Also a lot of people were talking about us and I'm pretty sure that they knew we could hear them. People are so strange.

Isn't this skirt cool? I got it along with this top at my most recent trip to Sun Thrift. I think thats one of the things I am going to miss the most about California. These shoes I got a while back on Etsy. They are kind of snug so I don't really wear them that often(They are also really unique, so it can be difficult to match them with outfits.). I found it entirely fitting to wear them yesterday though, because of where we were.

I like to ride bicycles and men

Both Dresses/ Sun Thrift Shoes/ Sun Thrift Spacesuit/ Snupped

$up,
So about a month ago I was approached by this really awesome company called Snupped. They work with artist to make these really cool Spacesuits for Laptops and Spacebooks for tablets. I think they also make some smaller bags that you can put anything in. They don't mass produce so if you order something from them it's likely that that will be the only one with that Spcaesuit/ Spacebook/ Bag in the whole world (I love when things are unique). When you look into purchasing one, it brings you to a page with a blank Spacesuit. First you pick what size you want it in (It depends on the size of your laptop.) and then they have a bunch of pre set art that you can choose from or you can upload your own image. I uploaded this wonderful computer graphic that I found on Tumblr. If you can't clearly see what it says, it says "I like to ride bicycles and men." For some reason, I just love that picture so much (It's my cover photo on facebook). After you customize what you want on the front and back of the spacesuit, then you can customize what you want the inside to look like. I went with black, to keep it simple. The last step is adding handles. I wanted handles because I thought it was more convenient. I cannot wait to show this puppy off! It took about 3 weeks to get the Spacesuit, but it was well worth the wait. I am obsessed with it, and I am soo happy that I got to customize it and make it my own.

You should check them out, This is their website, http://www.snupped.com/. Their spacesuits are very affordable for how much customizing you are doing and the quality of the product is top notch. While your on their site you should check out their collaborations with other artists (my favorite is Josiah, its so interesting).
