Donut Talk to Me

$up,
Sorry for my absence this past week. Things have been pretty hectic and yet not. I have had class every day this week, but there is a lack of consistency with the times and people in the classes I am going to. for example today I had class at 4:30-6:30 and it was with BA footwear and FDA footwear, but yesterday I had a lecture at 9am to 10am with a whole different course and the day before that there was a class in mid afternoon that had about 10 kids in it. I can't always take a picture of my outfit mostly because of the weather. I'm still trying to figure out this whole living in London thing, I guess. I've been told the weather has been surprisingly good this year, but to my california blood it's been cold and rainy. I am adjusting though! These pictures were taken yesterday for a friends photo project. I don't know what the project was for, but I loved doing it, it was really fun. I also got paid in donuts, which is always a plus. A good way to get my love is giving me sweets, or flowers (but that's pretty obvious).

I am wearing two different outfits in these pictures. The all pink long sleeve dress is from that rummage sale I mentioned in the last post, I absolutely adore it. The other dress I have worn before on my blog. I got it in the Camden Market. It was a really great find, and I still am obsessed with it. The donut necklace I am wearing is from Cyber Dog in Camden Town, and the earrings I got in the market in that area. My headband is actually a real donut, thank god it didn't fall off.

All these pictures were taken by Rachel Dunlop, and please please check out her facebook page here and her website here, she is so talented!

Tacky in the Slightest

The weeks in Uni are slowly progressing. We are still in the induction process and will probably be finished in another week. I had forgotten how much I loved being in an artistic environment. It's slightly different this time around, but it's still great. I think last time friends came easier because I wasn't looking so hard for them, I was looking for creativity and that came, but with huge cloud of self judgement. This time I got really bummed out in the first couple of weeks that I didn't have any friends or really anyone that I wanted to be friends with and then I realized that I was searching to hard for the right people and not letting it all come naturally. In this past week at Uni, I gave up my search for friendship and just started doing my own thing. I have been having the best/ most creative ideas for shoes, clothing, art and just everything. I have a lot of things right now in the works. The first full day I was here I ran into a woman on the bus and we were talking for a while. I was on my way to the doctors because I felt ill, and she could tell my energy was really anxious and upset. She told me to let life take control and I have been doing my best to let life lead me. I haven't been this happy in a while and it feels really great. Letting life lead the way has been working out so well and so many opportunities have presented themselves to me and I am so excited to see what comes next. It was difficult at first but I think moving here has been the best decision that I have ever made.

How darling is this dress? I found it at the Camden Market this past sunday. I went with Justin and this American girl that moved in on my hall. She actually lives in California about an hour from where I used to live in Oakland. It was pretty fun, we got crepes and some cute clothes for super cheap. This dress is made by a company called WEWA, and they are located in the Electric Ballroom in Camden Town every Sunday. The maker is a 70 year old woman and she makes really wonderful pieces that have all these really cool patches on them and then they are colored over with some kind of sparkly fabric paint. I loved the print on the dress and the angel is so tacky in the best way possible. I am sporting some Giant Vintage Glasses that are really pretty and pink. The shoes are Jeffrey Campbell and they are a hunk of junk. I have maybe worn these shoes six times and they are all broken and falling apart. I've had them for a couple of years though, but they haven't been worn very many times. I have been doing this sort of Edie Sedgwick/ Twiggy eye make up lately, and I actually really love the way it looks, I get some pretty weird stares from people when I am walking on the street though, but hey, I can deal with it.

London Homies

Sweater/ Oakland Goodwill, Shirt/ Salvation Army, Leggings/ Target, Shoes/ Vagabond, Hat/ Camden Market, Glasses/ Giant Vintage Sunglasses.

$up,
This past weekend has made me feel so at ease because it seems like things are finally starting to fall into place. I have started my course at Uni, and I am excited about something for the first time in a long time. Today we went over the course load and our time tables, and I feel a little stressed but mostly just excited to learn and really show everyone what I am made of. I have this overwhelming feeling that I am going to wow my professors, and it feels so good. I finally feel like I am in the right place at the right time. I have never felt that way before.

Over the weekend I met up with this Wonderful photographer studying at London College of Fashion named, Tish Jarrett. She contacted me via email to colab for a shoot. I was super stoked because I have these awesome new glasses from Giant Vintage Sunglasses that I wanted to have captured for my blog. We went to this really cool courtyard of an apartment complex that was entirely filled with graffiti. I would have liked to get some more pictures there wearing different outfits, but the inconvenient thing about living in London is you can only bring what you can carry. I did however get to sneak in one more look that I will be posting tomorrow! Tish was a really nice girl and a really talented photographer. If you want to see more of her work you can look at her site here.

Music- I haven't really been on the look out for new music which bums me out a bit, but I will be scouting for some next week, so I can give you some new stuff to listen to! Face to Face- Daft Punk.
