Sugar Pie Honey Bunch

Skirt/ Sun Thrift, Shirt/ Sun Thrift, Shoes/ UNIF

$up,
How awesome is this skirt. I have worn it before for my blog, so it may look a bit familiar. I love it. It reminds me of a bad 90s screen saver for a computer. I love shit like that, I think it's funny. I found this and my top at Sun Thrift. I was really lucky to find this shirt. It was for a rather large person, I think, so I took it in and now its a cute little crop top. The shoes are UNIF and definitely one of my favorites. This picture was also shot by the lovely Tish Jarrett, who shot the pictures in the last post. This was probably the portion that reeked the most of piss, but I don't really think my face conveys how bad it smelled.

Lord O-Mighty You Betta Smile

Top/ O-Mighty, Dress/ Thrifted, Shoes/ Unif, Jacket/ East End Vintage.

$up,
So the reality of this post (and most likely the next one) is it was fucking cold outside. The things we do for fashion.. I know I have been complaining about this for the past couple of posts, but just so you know that I am being serious:
Okay, so it's in celsius, so it's actually around 30 degrees, but I am from southern california! I am FREEZING!

I have had very little time lately because school has really gotten complicated in the past two weeks after a month or so of literally doing nothing. It kind of snuck up on me. A friend and I went to camden to take these pictures over the weekend.

I haven't done to much exploring in that area besides going to the camden market and the little retail shops around there and neither has she, so we thought we would give it a go. We did really venture that much past the market because we really weren't very sure where to go. We stopped to take some pictures at this mural. It looks so much cooler in the picture than it did in real life. It looks like there is chaos behind me when I think it was supposed to be a high way scene.

On our way back I got a crepe, and it was the messiest thing I think I have ever had to deal with. I have never had a hard time eating a crepe before, and trust me I know my way around a crepe, but this one was dysfunctional or something. It started leaking from the plate that it was on and then it got all over me. I thought I had fixed it by cleverly folding the plate and then the chocolate syrup started pouring from the middle of the plate and it wouldn't stop. Of course I was on the tube at this point covered in chocolate and getting weird looks from everyone. I couldn't help but laugh at how gross I was being, but I couldn't help it. I felt like I needed to take a shower. Some woman kindly offered me a tissue, and it helped for a little while, but then I used a plastic bag that I had gotten syrup all over and that did the trick. This was literally me trying to eat this crepe:

I think that's probably a good place to end, no?

Music- This song is a bit regressive in my musical evolution but I have always loved it. It's one of those songs that whenever I show it to someone they are kind of like... Are you serious?... Yes, I am very serious.

Rummage

Overalls/ Rummage Sale, Shirt/ Goodwill, Undershirt/ Uniqlo, Socks/ Urban Outfitters, Shoes/ Vagabond.

$up,
What is it about overalls that makes us feel like girly 6 year olds again? I got these beauties at a rummage sale under a sketchy bridge in London. I went by myself and wasn't very familiar with the area, there also wasn't an address so that made things a little tricky. Someone told me to get off the tube turn left and then another left and then walk to a bridge and that is where the sale is. Sketchy? I followed those directions, but when I got to the bridge I didn't see anything and felt a little on gard. There was a sign pointing down this little alley way next to the bridge and that is where the sale was. I ended up being one of the only ones there, but my oh my what a gem of a sale. There were 20 racks of clothing all second hand, and you picked up a bag (small or large) and you payed 10-20 pounds and you could fill up the bag. I spent 20 and got the large bag, and I got the best stuff. The person that was running the sale was so friendly, he let me slip in some more clothing then the bag would allow. I thought it was so nice of him to do that.

Moody Blues

Sunglasses/ Giant Vintage Sunglasses, Skirt/ Sun Thrift, Shoes/ Ego and Greed, Shirt/ Sun Thrift.

$up lovelies,
Over the weekend I did a shoot with a girl named Rachel. She is living in my halls and she is from New York. She is only here for the semester, but she is super nice and super talented. We went to this laundry mat just down the road from us. It was kind of a dark dingy day which showed up in a sort of magical way in the photos. I really like the way they came out, they look very raw.

These glasses are another pair from Giant Vintage Sunglasses. I absolutely love the way they look. They are modeled after the Miumiu Glasses, but they are super affordable and comfortable. I am so happy to add them to my glasses collection. The shirt and top I got at Sun Thrift but at different times. That is one thing I really miss about being back in LA is my many trips to Sun Thrift. The shoes I got at Wasteland in my last trip up to oakland. I miss my Oakland friends a great deal, I am really happy that I was able to take that trip up there. This is the last time I am going to be able to wear my hair like this, because this weekend I am getting it cut. I don't know exactly how short because it isn't up to me (I got picked to be in a hair show), but it's going to be fun and exciting.

Lately I have been obsessed with mood rings, so I decided to only wear mood rings. I really like the look of them because they are always changing colors, but they are never the same color. I think it's my body's way of saying, "hey, your really confused!" Not to say I am depressed of anything, but just being away from home and I guess not fully on my own two feet yet, I have had so many mixed emotions. It's weird to feel so many different, conflicting things all at one time. I know things will get better of course, but for the time being, it's fun to have something like this.

Irregular

Romper/ Forever 21, Scarf/ Thrifted, Shoes/ We Who See, Sweater/ Good Will Oakland

$up,

6 days of nonstop rain in London. It's really just been sprinkling, but if it sprinkles long enough it gets everything soaked. This picture was taken when my dad was visiting, actually on his last day here. It's my first lookbook picture from London. I dyed my hair, and I actually kind of hate it. It's a bit too bright for me, and its actually not coming out of my hair. I've been washing it every day, and those of you who dye your hair frequently, you know that you shouldn't wash your hair every day because you will loose your color quickly. I think when you are trying to loose it, it wont leave. So I guess the joke is on me. I think I just don't like it because it is to bright and if I wear all black it makes me look really goth, not into it.

Since I have been in London I have done a lot of exploring on my own. I stubbled upon Irregular Choice, which I had herd of before, and seen their stuff, but for some reason, it is so much crazier in London then in the States. I am super into it, but the shoes are out of my price range for the moment. These are a few of my favorites. They don't carry the Bunny shoes anymore, but they have a large variety of really awesome shoes, check out their online store here:

I also stumbled upon Brick Lane, a wonderful area for Vintage Clothing. I went there yesterday and got some goodies that I am really excited to wear and show off. All I need know is someone to take my picture!

Music- The Strokes, Someday. Always nice for a pick me up.

Raging Waters

Shirt/ Sun Thrift, Skirt/ Sun Thrift, Shoes/ Etsy

$up,
Yesterday I went to a water park with my brother and my two step siblings. I used to really love water parks, even though they are pretty gross and you are most likely swimming in a mixture of little kids pee and water with a lot of chlorine, but this time it wasn't really that much fun and I don't really know why. My brother and I went one two slides and then we went in the wave pool and the lazy river. The water was really really cold, so I think thats why we only did a few things. The ground was also insanely hot, I definitely burned the bottom of my feet. There were other slides that we wanted to go on, but I was more hesitant because I remember the slides that didn't have inter-tubes really hurt your back or your front. Ryan and I got a lot of junk food, so that was pretty cool. We got weird looks from everyone, and I think its because of my hair and Ryan's rose.. Also a lot of people were talking about us and I'm pretty sure that they knew we could hear them. People are so strange.

Isn't this skirt cool? I got it along with this top at my most recent trip to Sun Thrift. I think thats one of the things I am going to miss the most about California. These shoes I got a while back on Etsy. They are kind of snug so I don't really wear them that often(They are also really unique, so it can be difficult to match them with outfits.). I found it entirely fitting to wear them yesterday though, because of where we were.

New Hair

Shoes/ Urban Outfitters Skirt/ Sun Thrift Top/Sun Thrift

$up,
I wanted to post a new outfit after I got my hair done a couple of days ago, but there was no one around to take my picture (My mom or my brother usually takes my picture.). I need to get a tripod so I don't have to rely on anyone else... I dyed my hair is pastel purple! I washed it once already so it kind of turned pink, but hey, I love pink. I think thats what I love the most about dying my hair "crazy" colors, the way it fades. It always exciting to me.

My move date is rapidly approaching and my mind is racing with all the things I want to do and all the things that I need to do. I want to tell all my friends here that I am leaving really soon, so we should all hangout a little more. I had a kind of sad thought yesterday. My good friend came back from Greece (She was there for a month) for a couple days before going back up north to her college. We had been friends since freshmen year and she was probably my best and most consistent friend all through high school. I was hanging out with her, and I realized that this is truly the last summer that all my friends from high school will be back home like this... This summer a lot of my friends didn't come back, or they came back for a couple days. Its strange.. Next summer, I know I will not be back for long, maybe a week or so, and I know my friends that came back for like a week will not come back at all. The people that do come back won't have very much in common, because we have been living separate lives for 3 years already. I can already feel a gap and its only been 2 years. I think its an appropriate time for all of us to move on into our adult life, but there is kind of a sad feeling realising that one chapter of your life is ending. However with every end there is a new beginning and I cannot tell you how excited I am for that.

Music-Sublime- Bad fish. I think it's only appropriate to end this chapter with sublime. Any music by Sublime will forever remind me of high school. This song in particular has sentimental value to me.

Soak it up

$up
I haven't been on blogger for a while. Oh how I've missed it! So let me tell you whats been going on. I went to a summer camp to be a camp advisor. I know what your thinking, it doesn't really seem like something I would do, and I agree. It was for a church that my mom goes to, I hadn't gone to that church since I was 18 and I don't really believe in it, but I understand the morals and agree with them. So I decided to go, because I felt like I could get a lot out of it and I felt like I had a lot to give. The camp was up by Idlewild, and unless you have been living under a rock for the past five days, you would know there is a crazy wild fire a-burnin up there. I am pretty afraid of fire, so as soon as I found out about it I wanted to leave. The camp actually wasn't that bad it was nice, some of the advisors where actually really fucking rude to me for no good reason. Let me just say something, a lot of the advisors are adults, not like 20-25 like adult adults (30-60) it's weird. So 2 days ago now (wednesday) we got evacuated because the smoke was becoming harmful, and apparently the fire had turned around and was headed in our direction. We were instructed to take only our valuable things, so I put on all the clothes that I had brought, because I am a freak about my clothing. I literally wore 2 pairs of pants a skirt 2 shirts and overalls and a vest, and I put the rest in a small backpack that I had brought. We then went on busses to Hemet High School and we had to sleep on the floor with a bunch of teenagers. It wasn't the best experience, but we got a bunch of food which was awesome, and I am so grateful for the red cross for taking care of us. After that we went to a church in Palm Desert were they tried to finnish the camp, but ultimately it ended 2 days early. So I am home now, there is so much more to the camp experience that I had that I just don't feel like writing about, but I am so happy that I am home and get to sleep in my own bed. However, now I have to dog sit so I cant go out this weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to keep my few readers posted on my outfits though!

The dress is a favorite of mine. Its just the right amount of tacky. I got it in Oakland at Goodwill, and I had to take it in, because it was made for someone much larger. I really love the way it looks. The image on the material is of a cow with a kiss mark on their butt. I am not wearing shoes because we went to the beach (before I left for camp). The shoes I am holding however are Ego and Greed. I have blogged about them before, but incase you were wondering I got them at wasteland in San Francisco on my last visit.
