Monday is Funday

Dress/ St Cyr Vintage, Shoes/ Y.R.U., Jacket/ Bleached Vintage

$up,
Happy monday everyone. I have a little over three weeks left in this term, and I am so excited to go home for easter break, how ever this week is crunch week. I have so much shit to do and I'm bugging out a little bit. I've done a lot of work but I just don't feel like its enough yet, so I am really going to hustle this week. Today we had 10 minutes of sunshine, and then it became really grey, but it was kind of warm (warm being 57 degrees). This dress I got in this really wonderful vintage store called St. Cyr Vintage in the Camden Market. I went there while my mom was still in town and we ended up getting lost in the market (as always) and we stumbled across this store. Everything was really well organized, and each article of clothing was arranged by size which was cool and frustrating. I saw frustrating because out of all the beautiful clothing there were only four things in my size. This dress was one of the four things, and thank god, because its soo cute. I made this coat a year ago, and it isn't really warm enough for London, but since today was kind of warm I got away with wearing it. These shoes are Y.R.U. and I find they are the most fun to wear, but I still really want to customize them. We'll see what happens.

I had a conversation with a woman on the tube yesterday. I complemented her coat, because it was bright pink, and really cute, and it is very rare to see an older woman wearing something colorful in London, especially on a rainy dreary day. She went on to day she liked what I was wearing and then we talked about how people give people wearing colors weird looks because everyone always wears black of grey. She went on to ask me if I was a student and what I did, and I asked her what she did. She does IT but she loves music and plays the piano and cello. it doesn't sound like much of a conversation, but it really made me feel good. People usually glare at me for wearing the stuff I wear, and it doesn't really bother me, but it does make it hard to talk to people. The fact that she wanted to talk to me, made me feel really nice. People never talk on the tube.. They should.

Music-I know I already posted Chela, but I mean come on, this is a great song.

Jacket/ Bleached Vintage

$up
How are you doing today? I'm super excited because my mom is coming to visit me for a month starting tomorrow~ Insert heart eyes emoji~. I'm so happy that she is coming to see me. That is item one. Item 2 is, my 21st birthday is on friday! It's weird because 21 doesn't really mean the same thing over here that it does in the United States. I feel like 21 is a mile stone and it's the last crazy birthday where you get a specific privilege, like the ability to drink (in the US). Not that that stops anyone from drinking, but you know what I mean. Over here though, 21 means that your an adult and you should start calming down, and getting your shit together. A friend said to me the other day, that she was 21, she might as well be 30. I was confused to say the least. I'm really excited actually to turn 21. It seems so strange because it is just a number, but I guess I just feel good about it. I think my 21st year is going to wildly different than any other year I have ever lived.

Item 3. This outfit. I woke up this morning really wanting to wear my UNIF goner heels, so I put together this all black outfit. When I put on the shoes, it didn't look good with my tights, or any tights in general, and today was also a "walking a lot day" and I thought it would be stupid to wear different shoes and then just change my shoes when I got to school. That way it wouldn't be authentic. So I put on my cheap monday shoes, because they are all black, and I haven't worn them in ages. Since I didn't wear my unif shoes, and my outfit was relatively plain, I threw on this Bleached Vintage jacket that I had made a year ago. I never ended up being able to sell it, which is kind of a bummer. I miss having an etsy store. I think in the next couple of weeks I might start to put some stuff in that store. SOOO... Keep an eye out. My hair somehow made me look/feel like a poodle today.. Not super down, but hey, I survived.

Music- This video isn't very impressive with the visuals, but I love this band a whole lot.

Beauty

Shirt/ Eat End Vintage, Shorts/ Bleached Vintage, Socks/ Target, Shoes/ Jeffrey Campbell.

$up,
Lately I have been thinking a lot about beauty. I had a conversation on friday with two other girls and I asked them what they thought was beautiful and what kind of people they were attracted to. One girl told me she thinks beauty is ugly. She is attracted to people that have crooked teeth, who are overweight who have moles, people that are not perfect. She really stressed that she hated "perfect" people. Not in a jealous type of way, she just didn't think that perfection or what society displays as "perfect" was beautiful. In my words what she is saying is perfection is imperfection. The other girl told me that she liked tall awkward people with big noses. Personally I am attracted to people that are individuals and that are unique. Creativity is what I love to see in others. I love people that are unconventionally pretty and tall and lanky.

I think we all agreed that the personality is everything. To be honest though, there is always that first impression. As people we recognize beauty and most of the time that is what gets us interested. Thats not us being shallow, mind you, thats just stating a fact. Once you start talking to the other person it really is all up to the personality. I have talked to people that I thought were the most beautiful people on earth and then I realized that their personality was garbage and it actually changed their appearance in my eyes.

I don't really understand the difference between the people that we all talked about that night and the people that society deems as "perfect". What makes them all seem so "perfect" is they have confidence. All people have flaws and celebrities and models are no different. Those flaws are what make them stand out and they choose to own them rather then to wallow in self pity. It is because they are in the public eye that makes others feel inferior or not beautiful enough. We need to just realize that they are people, just like us. They are perfectly imperfect, just like us.

A lot of what we think is beautiful is a reflection on what we see in ourselves that we like and the rest is what we see in our surroundings. Ultimately beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am really interested to hear what you, my readers think is beautiful. (Please comment bellow and let me know what you think is beautiful)

Butt-Head

Jumper/ Camden Market, Vest/ Bleached Vintage, Shorts/ American Apparel, Shoes/ Dr. Martens

$up,
My hair is grey, but I promise it is intentional. I want to warn everyone that if you plan to go white blonde or some kind of grey, your hair is most likely going to be destroyed. I have been doing the strangest types of treatments to my hair to make it somewhat normal. Last night I poured olive oil on it and slept with it in my hair. This morning I didn't get to wash it all out, because oil and water suck together. So this was my look for the day.

Music- This was sent to me by a friend, and I really love it.

Flea Market

Top/ Dimepiece, Shorts/ Bleached Vintage, Shoes/ Demonia

$up,
Yesterday my day started at 3am which was probably the earliest I have woken up. I usually go to sleep around 3 so naturally my body was thrown when I tried to go to sleep at 7pm to get a full nights rest. I tossed and turned trying to sleep for hours. I finally fell asleep at 2am only to wake an hour later. I got ready and at 4 I headed down to the Rose Bowl with my mom to pick up my merchant ticket and then set up to start selling. The Flea Market opened at 6:30 am, and it was still dark. We saw the crazy bargain hunters with their trench coats and flash lights perusing through the vintage articles of clothing and furntiture.

I wanted to charge people 20$ for my shirts because on my etsy store they are 40$ but no one wanted to buy my shirts at 20 bucks a pop. So I figured out through out the day, to actually sell stuff they need to be dirt cheap. I ended up charging people 15$ for each shirt. I wasn't to happy about that because it took a lot of time to make each thing, but I mean I guess people were really interested in what I was selling. I didn't sell anything until 10am and then it was a bit spotty from there. at 12 I broke even and then the sales started pouring in. At the end of the day I walked away with $200 ($135 profit, yeahhhh!). I bought my ticket a couple days before selling so my spot was in the very back corner and it was across from a gate. We didn't get very much foot traffic, but I got a better feel for what the audience is looking for. If I were to do it again I think I would buy my ticket sooner so I could get a spot with better foot traffic, because I think in the end thats why I didn't sell a lot of stuff.

All and all I really did have a good time, I loved spending the time with my mom, and my Grandma came down and hung out with us. They are both so supportive of everything I do and I am so grateful to have the both of them in my life. I got to walk around towards the end and I got to buy a pair of shoes for pretty cheap (The Flea Market is always good for that kind of stuff). I also ran into a couple familiar faces. It was good to see you guys!

Purp

$up,
So I am finally done with taking care of my great grandma. Thank God. I love her, but man I just don't have patients (which is horrible). I am glad to be free to do other things though. Last night Ryan and I went to get his nose pierced. It looks really cool actually. His nose is a little bit crooked so his septum piercing looks kind of crooked, but it still looks really cool. Afterwards we went to a small kick back, I didn't really know to many people there. I just went there to hangout with Lauren and Nicole who I haven't seen in a long time, so it was really nice to see them and catch up.

I got new lipstick from Lime crime and I am really obsessed with it. I got the green mint lipstick and centrifushia lipstick and they arrived yesterday. I wore the mint one last night, and I think it looked kind of strange, I think my skin tone is pale but not pale enough to rock a pastel lip color. The centrifushia one is beautiful and I am really excited to wear it in my next post. In the picture the lipstick looks kinda shitty because its a little bit fadded.

Shoes/ Unif Cross Trainer Highs, Pants/ Unif Charlie Bells, Leotard/ Bleached Vintage, Lipstick/ LimeCrime Mint.
