$up,
The past couple of weeks the weather in London has really taken a dive and it is only going to get worse... (insert worried emoji). It makes me look forward to going back home for winter break, and I was already really looking forward to it. It's actually really strange how much I am looking forward to winter break. I don't really remember feeling that way the last time I went away, but then again I guess I wasn't really that far to begin with.

I am so excited to see my family, I miss them dearly. I wish that I could come back for thanksgiving because it's my favorite holiday, but of course they don't celebrate that in England. A lot of English people don't even know what it is (or at least some of the ones that I have talked to). I don't blame them though, there are English holiday's that I have never herd of. One just passed actually. It was yesterday, it was a day to remember the day that Guy Fawkes almost blew up parliament. So there are fireworks and apparently the have a bonfire to burn a fake Guy Fawkes. It's pretty interesting, but I had to much work to really participate in it.

That was a really random tangent.. Back to what I was saying..

My family. I cannot wait to see my mom and my brother and my dad. I can't wait to get special mom hugs. That's something that is really lacking in my life right now, the hug. I think it's something that a lot of us don't really do very much anymore and it's something that is really taken for granted. We should never underestimate the power of a hug. It can easily make everyone feel so much better. Ahh I can't wait to feel the love of my family. I think that's the thing I am looking forward to the most. Not Christmas, not seeing my friends, not the weather but just that love.

Artist Spotted: Marina Fini

Hello my lovely readers,
Today I want to tell you about this wonderful artist I have found. I have come across this artist on several different occasions. The first was through Etsy about a year ago when I first created an account and a store. I stumbled upon this store that sold really colorful plastic earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and these really beautiful crystal rings and necklaces (I am really a sucker for that kind of stuff.). All the stuff in this shop was out of my price range being a jobless 19 year old, but I admired the craftsmanship and wished I could own every piece in her shop. The second time I found her was through tumblr, I was going through the reblogs on my dashboard and I saw a picture she had taken (I remembered it from her store.):

I clicked on it and it brought me to her website. Her website was like walking into a candy store. Everything I saw was so colorful and pretty. I discovered that she was much more than a jewelry designer, she is a photographer and she also makes short films. My what a talented person. This last time I stumbled upon her work was just by chance of typing in links in my search bar. My second time around looking through her website I was like, I really need to get the word out about this artist. She is so incredibly talented I highly suggest you check out her website >here<. If your too lazy I am posting my favorite works by her. (prepare to be bombarded with pictures)

Her Jewelry (I want the flower earrings more than anything):
Her Wonderful Photography (Her jewelry is included.):

There are many things that I love about her work, but I think the thing I like the most is the way she styles each model in the pictures. They are all so colorful and they wear clashing patterns so eloquently. I aspire to dress that way one day.

Thank you for being inspiring and Keep up the good work Marina Fini!

$up,
I had an interview over the phone this morning with London College of Fashion. It was at 3 in the afternoon in London, which is 7 in the morning here. That is like in the middle of the night for me (I'm not a morning person.). I was really nervous because I had an interview 2 weeks ago, and the women that interviewed me was not the most friendly. She acted like she didn't like any of the answers I was giving her. The end of that interview she wanted me to send her more artwork and then I would get a follow up interview. So this morning someone else called me from the college and he was soo much nicer. I took a breath of relief when I herd someone else's voice on the other end of the phone. He seemed to really like all the answers I gave him, which made me feel great. He told me when he first saw my artwork he was like "She's mad!" but when he looked at the other artwork I had sent in he realized that I was "very talented, and a well rounded artist." This made me feel so wonderful. And then we started talking about the course that I had applied for (Foundations in Shoe Design). He asked me why I applied for this course when I had written in personal statement that I my goal was to get a Bachelors degree in shoe design. I said that I didn't feel that I had enough knowledge about shoe design, and didn't want to be over my head. He then went on to tell me that I was ready for the Bachelors Degree program and then he offered me a spot. I was so ecstatic I quickly said "I would love to!"

You guys, I'm moving to London!

Music- Asleep- The Smiths. I love this song. I feel like when songs like this are used in popular movies (Perks of Being a Wallflower) they kind of get ruined in a sense. Not really ruined but I guess the musically ignorant people think that the song was made for the movie. People that saw that movie that have never herd of the smiths, I am happy that you learned about them, because they are super great. But they are old and this song does not "belong" to that movie.

Nobody

$up,
So a friend of a friend approached me about modeling some of his clothing for his company "Nobody LA". He is this super awesome photographer that takes pictures at events around LA (Check out his photos here) and then he started to make his own clothing. He gave me a shirt and a beanie. If you haven't noticed, I fucking love beanies so I was really excited to get a Nobody LA beanie. I was eyeing that beanie for sometime so I'm very happy I got one. I am not typically a fan of graphic t-shirts, but this shirt is sooo comfortable and its a tight fitting shirt. I also really love the 00 on the back of the shirt. As you may have seen on any other fashion blogs Jerseys are really in right now. Most of the time I have trouble wearing t-shirts and making them look good, I think its because I have pretty narrow shoulders, but I decided to put it over a button up shirt. I saw someone on lookbook do it and it looked so cute, so i figured I would give it a shot. I wore a plain navy skirt to match my hair (Its my moms). I wanted to wear some patterned stuff with this outfit because I love patterns, so I wore these cute Lion socks that I got at Urban Outfitters a while ago. I wore my Ego and Greed platform sandals because they showed off my cute socks.

I really like this company and I love the photography that he takes. He is one talented person. I love promoting small businesses because those are the best kinds of businesses. I like things that are low key, this company is low key right now. The prices are very good, t-shirts are $15-20 and the hats are $20-25. Please check them out!
