Artist Spotlight: Erin M Riley

Erin M Riley is a Philadelphia based artist who works primarily with Fibers. She makes these really awesome tapestries by weaving different threads together. Most of her work is of pictures that she has found on the internet, through facebook or google. In the video below she says that it is her way of bringing the picture to life, because so many people just post a picture online without really thinking about what it means or the image it portrays. I really like her work, I think it takes a great amount of talent and patients to make these tapestries, especially at the size she chooses to work with. Her work also makes me a little bit uncomfortable, but hey, great art is supposed to make you feel something. Check out her website here.
