My mom took the pictures for me at like 2 which is why there is an annoying sun glare, but in some of the pictures it looks pretty cool.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12198658342637906949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4288503118985727294.post-68042294687011711672013-08-18T10:23:51.403-07:002013-08-18T10:23:51.403-07:00Hey Flo:

Fighting all the time, breaking up and making up, that is the stuff of movies not what we should aspire to.

-Yeah the fifties had the benefit of people being more committed. But not always for good reasons. Like you said it's often better to break up. But in the 1950s women had little opportunity outside the home, so it was harder for them to leave bad relationships, since they didn't have their own money. Also there was more spousal abuse of women back then, since it was kept quiet, and again, women also had to suck it up since they had little choice.

-It's interesting that you find your friends with married parents have worse relationships and vice versa. Not surprising tho. Children always seem to learn from their parents but not always in the best way. It's like many kids whose parents have substance abuse problems stay away themselves. I'd like to say that my wife and I have a great relationship and we've been married for 35 years. Our daughter tho has had only one major relationship and it didn't go well, the guy was a dick. Maybe you're on to something!

BTW we were featured in the NY Times series 'Making it Last', about long married couples. You might get a kick out of it.
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/28/booming/defying-family-to-forge-a-family-of-their-own.html?ref=makingitlast&_r=0

PS: Outfit a blast as always. Did you do that lens flare on purpose?
